Ray Kay starts his own record label

The award winning music video director, Ray Kay, starts his own record label, Snowballers Entertainment, with the Norwegian music producer, Axident. First artist signed is Slimmie Hendrix (formerly Pittsburgh Slim).

Ray Kay has directed the most watched video throughout history on YouTube, Justin Bieber’s “Baby”. He has directed music videos for artists such as Lady Gaga, Willow Smith, Beyoncé Knowles, Enrique Iglesias, Cheryl Cole, Diddy, Sean Paul, Destiny’s Child and Christina Milian. His videos have won several awards, including MTV Awards and Much Music Awards.

Axident is a new Norwegian music producer, credited with creating huge dance hits in Norway. He has a fresh new sound, combining dance, urban and pop elements.

The first artist out is the formerly Def Jam-signed rapper, Pittsburgh Slim, but with a new name and style; Slimmie Hendrix.

Slimmie Hendrix began as a member of the Pittsburgh indie rap group Strict Flow. He relocated to Los Angeles, California, and released the single “Girls Kiss Girls” under the name Pittsburgh Slim. The song gained popularity from its video on YouTube, leading Jay-Z to sign him to Def Jam Recordings, where he released his solo debut LP, Tastemaker, in December 2007. In Januray 2011, he teamed up with Snowballers Entertainment.

Slimmie Hendrix’ first single through Snowballers, “Stuntman” is expected in February 2011 and the video will be filmed by Ray Kay.
