According to TMZ, Judge Elden Fox did not hear any testimony from Lohan’s lawyers before denying the 24-year-old “Mean Girls” star bail and ordering her to immediately report to jail. Lohan was reportedly handcuffed in court before being taken into custody, meaning she could be behind bars until the next hearing in the case, scheduled for October 22. Read more…
Is Lindsay Lohan going back to jail? TMZ has the scoop on what could happen to Lindsay Lohan because of her two failed drug tests, and it could either be pretty stiff or less than a slap on the wrist. Lindsay failed two drug tests earlier this month — one tested positive for cocaine and the other for Adderall. The LA County Probation Department isn’t going to kick her for that second violation because of what TMZ is calling an “ambiguity in the paperwork that went from the court to the probation office.” Read more…
Lindsay Lohan: A History Of Rehab: When troubled actress Lindsay Lohan exited the Century Regional Detention Facility in the early hours of Monday (August 2) morning, she was shuttled directly to a place she’s quite familiar with: rehab. Though the “Mean Girls” star only served 13 of the 90 days in jail she was sentenced to in connection with a probation violation from a 2007 DUI conviction, she will have to serve the entire 90 days of court-mandated rehab at a UCLA Hospital-affiliated facility in order to complete her sentence. Since her struggles with substance abuse first surfaced more than four years ago, the 24-year-old actress has made several attempts to get clean. Read more…

In 2006 Lohan started to attend AA meetings brought about by heavy partying, and during the same month entered rehab (at the Wonderland Center )for the first time. She checked out in February of 2007 after a 30 day stay. After her first arrest for DUI she again entered rehab.
She entered the Promises Treatment Center in May of 2007 after being caught with cocaine during a DUI. Upon release she had to wear a scram bracelet to monitor her sobriety. During July of 2007 she was again arrested for DUI and she returned to rehab at Promises. Two weeks after leaving Promises she was again arrested for DUI and possession of cocaine.
In August of 2007 she entered rehab at the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah. She was there until release in October. On August 23, 2007, she pleaded guilty to cocaine use and driving under the influence and was sentenced to one day imprisonment and 10 days’ community service, with 3 years probation. At this time she issued a statement that she was addicted to alcohol and drugs. After serving time she got an additional year of probation for missing court ordered substance abuse classes.
In May of 2010, Lohan failed to appear for a scheduled DUI progress report hearing. The judge issued a warrant for her arrest. This was later rescinded. At a hearing on May 24, 2010 Lohan was instructed to attend weekly alcohol education classes, wear a monitoring bracelet, stop drinking alcohol, and undergo random weekly drug tests to remain free on bail. The judge scheduled a hearing for July 6, 2010 to determine whether Lohan had violated probation by not having attended the required number of classes to date.
At the June 6 2010 hearing the judge determined that Lohan had indeed violated the terms of her probation and sentenced her to 90 days in jail, starting in July 2010. He also ordered her to check into an inpatient rehab program for three months after her release from jail. Starting July 20th Lohan spend 14 days in jail. She then spent 23 of the expected 90 days in rehab. She was instructed to submit to random drug and alcohol screenings as well as attend psychotherapy and behavior therapy twice a week, and also participate in five 12-step sessions a week.
On September 17 2010 it was confirmed that she had tested positive for drugs (cocaine and amphetamines) and faces a 30 day jail sentence.
Not too many drug-addicted celebrities bother to call a drug and alcohol hotline, which could have helped them through times of crisis.
